Pedestrian Gates are typically a single swing gate, with a mechanical lock. The visitor hears the click or buzz and pushes the gate to open it. Locks can be mounted recessed into the jamb or out on the leaf. The latter type often permits for a key override - an excellent idea if there is no other way onto the property in case of a power failure.
